Advances in telemetry and AI are fundamentally transforming road safety. What are the benefits to the Roads and Transport Authorities, Delivery Aggregators, Delivery Riders/Drivers, 3rd Party logistics? Read this article and you’ll find out.

What is Vehicle Telemetry?

For those who have heard the term but aren’t aware: Telemetry involves the automatic measurement and wireless transmission of data from vehicles to a central system. In the context of vehicles, it means capturing details such as speed, location, acceleration, rider/driver behaviour braking patterns, and engine diagnostics. The ONE MOTO vehicles are equipped with a variety of sensors that gather and transmit these metrics to cloud-based platforms. Yet, pre-existing vehicles which don’t have this technology need to be retro-fitted, but that’s OK. We have that covered.

This data is highly valuable, it provides insight into driving behaviour, vehicle performance, and traffic conditions. By tracking these metrics, manufacturers and fleet operators can identify patterns indicating potential hazards or risky driving behaviours. This real-time data becomes the foundation for AI systems designed to help prevent accidents.

The UAE can offer the safest road network in the world

The benefits:

Roads and Transport Authorities: A complete over-arching understanding of how the roads are being used, and the vehicles using them. The aggregated data, over time will also be able to predict traffic patterns, assess road quality/damage and (if needed) monitor and manage the correct, safe parameters for these roads.

Fleet Operators: Full access to fleet and rider management, vehicle performance, maintenance scheduling and predictive maintenance. Reducing operational costs, improving operating margins and providing a safer environment for their riders and drivers.

Delivery Aggregators/Platforms: Although many are positioned as a tech company, the orchestrator between customer and producer, they have their in-house data, rich in consumer buying patterns, behaviours and equipping them with the tools to increase Average Transaction Value (ATV). They currently don’t have the secret sauce, but the recipe is nearly complete – telemetry – understanding the vehicles and fleet operations of their third party logistics suppliers and partners will allow them to optimise routes, reduce working hours of their ‘couriers’, create micro-zones for delivery and increase the per hour order volumes.

Delivery Riders and Drivers: These workers do face the brunt end of the deal. When fuel prices increase they pay more, when they have servicing downtime, it’s on their dime. If the orders aren’t available (over supplied riders) their delivery volumes decrease, resulting in them working longer hours, to achieve their daily target. Telemetry in their vehicles optimises their job, manages their workflow, supports them and their safety and decreases their cost of operations – saving over 29% of their gross annual salary.

How it benefits the consumer and delivery aggregator: The greatest KPI is the speed of which the product/item.food gets delivered. A highly marketed sales trigger tapping into the ‘hangry’ on demand, the ‘delivery of everything, now’ customer.

AI as the Co-Pilot

Artificial intelligence takes telemetry data and interprets it to make split-second decisions based on what it “observes.” With advanced algorithms, AI can process large amounts of information quickly, recognise patterns, and predict possible outcomes. For example, an AI system might assess the likelihood of a collision by examining driving habits, current road conditions, or even the time of day.

When combined, AI and telemetry make a powerful team. Systems such as advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) can monitor elements like lane positioning and surrounding traffic. These AI-powered systems can issue warnings, apply brakes, or adjust steering to avoid potential accidents. Acting as a vigilant co-pilot, AI offers an extra layer of safety beyond human capacity.

Preventing Accidents with Predictive Analysis

A major advantage of AI-powered telemetry is predictive analysis. By studying historical data along with real-time information, AI can foresee dangerous scenarios before they happen. For instance, if a driver regularly brakes hard at certain junctions, AI could predict this behaviour and adjust the vehicle’s response to mitigate risk.

In fleet management, this predictive capability is invaluable. Fleet managers can detect drivers who engage in high-risk behaviours, such as speeding or abrupt braking, allowing for targeted interventions before accidents occur. These predictive insights enable companies to proactively address safety, benefiting both fleet drivers and other road users.

Real-Time Monitoring and Emergency Response

Telemetry systems excel in real-time monitoring by continuously sending data that alerts safety systems. If an unexpected event occurs, such as sudden braking or swerving, the telemetry system can identify this as a high-risk situation. AI can then evaluate it in real time, notifying the driver or dispatching emergency assistance if necessary. This approach ensures rapid response, even if the driver is incapacitated or unaware of the danger.

Additionally, some AI systems can detect signs of fatigue or distraction. If telemetry reveals erratic lane-keeping or prolonged periods without steering input, the AI might interpret this as drowsiness and recommend a rest break. Since fatigue is a leading cause of vehicle accidents, these alerts can be critical in preventing crashes.

What are the applications?

Taxis, Delivery Motorcycles, Commercial Vehicles, Busses, P2P Sharing (cars, scooters), the opportunities are able to be cross-integrated providing the government and authorities with a compete overview to base all future safety decisions upon.

Looking Forward: A Safer Road Ahead

The potential for telemetry and AI to reduce accidents is enormous, yet we’re only beginning to explore the possibilities. Future advancements will likely bring even greater integration between vehicles and their environments. More sophisticated V2X communication, enhanced AI algorithms, and richer telemetry data will continue to improve predictive safety features.

How is this integrated into existing vehicles?

Telemetry is included as standard in the ONE MOTO fleet of vehicles, we believe in safety, we commit to it. It is our responsibility.

For existing vehicles, these need to be retrofitted and we are accountable for ensuring this happens, monitoring, training and helping our customers understand the dat they receive.

Imagine if we could mandate all commercial vehicles to be installed with telemetry by 2026? Creating the world’s safest road network.

As we continue to expand our international footprint, there is always a very firm focus to continue to build upon our beachhead market. We were the first to the region, the change makers, the dreamers. Driven by customers, companies, the government, all had needs – we continue to deliver upon the wants for the future too.

This article presents the latest financials and forecasts for the country. We believe these figures understate the potential growth based on our primary research. Share your thoughts with us!

If you are wanting to discuss new markets with us, reach out and we’ll make it happen.

In recent years, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has witnessed a seismic shift in consumer behaviour, driven by technological advancements and changing lifestyles and there’s no denying COVID-19 played a leading role!

This transformation has propelled the food and e-commerce delivery sector into the spotlight, with an unprecedented surge in demand for convenient and efficient delivery services. As the industry continues to evolve, navigating the intricacies of delivery volumes, costs, and forecasted growth becomes essential for businesses operating in this dynamic landscape.

Explosive Growth in Delivery Volumes

The UAE’s food and e-commerce delivery sector has experienced exponential growth, fuelled by a burgeoning population thanks to the vision and invitational platform for the world to explore, increasing urbanisation across the Emirates, and a relentless appetite for convenience. Recent statistics project that the UAE’s food last-mile delivery market will reach a value of USD 2.2 billion by 2025, growing at a compound annual rate of 14.2% from 2020 to 2025.

Similarly, the e-commerce sector has witnessed a remarkable uptick in delivery volumes, with online retail sales in the UAE expected to surpass USD 31 billion by Q4 this year largely due to the prominent marketplaces like Temu and Shein. The COVID-19 pandemic has further accelerated this surge in demand, prompting consumers to embrace online shopping and home delivery services at an unprecedented pace.

Cost Impact and Operational Cause

While the growth prospects for the food and e-commerce delivery sector in the UAE are promising, businesses face a myriad of challenges, particularly concerning delivery costs and operational efficiency. Fluctuating fuel prices, labour expenses, and infrastructure investments exert pressure on delivery service providers and fleet operators to streamline operations and optimise costs without compromising service quality. The multiple stakeholders are affected at varying degrees with a responsibility to their riders being a factor (profit vs welfare).

Recent studies indicate that the average (all-inclusive/aggregated stakeholder) cost per delivery in the UAE ranges from AED 20 to AED 50, depending on various factors such as distance, delivery speed, CaC, servicing and maintenance and order volume (with customers seeing a AED 7-AED 20 price, plus ‘service fee’). However, achieving profitability remains a significant challenge for many delivery businesses, especially in light of fierce competition and evolving consumer expectations.

Forecasted Growth and Market Opportunities

Despite the challenges, the future outlook for the food and e-commerce delivery sector in the UAE remains optimistic, driven by technological innovation, demographic trends, and shifting consumer preferences. Industry analysts expect sustained growth in delivery volumes, driven by leading operators setting market milestones, adopting digital payments, and proliferating delivery platforms.

Furthermore, the emergence (approximately five years ago) of new delivery models, such as dark kitchens cloud kitchens, and autonomous delivery vehicles, presents exciting opportunities for businesses to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and cater to evolving consumer demands. With the UAE government’s continued focus on digital transformation and infrastructure development, the stage is set for continued expansion and innovation in the delivery sector.

As ONE MOTO – Electric Vehicles pioneered two-wheeled electric vehicles in the GCC, generating a market leader presence was tough, a tremendous amount of knowledge sharing (by all stakeholders) in the value chain. As more of our electric delivery vans begin to roll out across the UAE we’ll once again demonstrate the positives of a sustainable delivery network – we’re looking forward to our partners making these announcements very soon.

Fleets Cause and Affect EV Demand.

We welcome this, have built fleet solutions because of this. With the recent revision to theEV incentives and governmental mobility strategies, we wanted to share some insights of how fleet operators can address the curve, adopt change before it’s imposed.

The last-mile landscape globally is seeing a 27% YoY growth, with many delivery aggregators being folded up, acquired or winding up. Profitability and efficiencies seem to be the key drivers, yet the solutions are already in the market.

Have a read about fleet leasing, the UK and UAE predictions for this year and help spread the solution to a noisy problem.

Role of Fleets in Driving Electric Vehicle Demand

United Kingdom – It has been emphasised that fleets will play a pivotal role in meeting zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) targets, especially in the absence of a significant surge in consumer interest in electric vehicles (EVs).

In 2023, fleets accounted for nearly two-thirds (64%) of all new battery electric vehicles (BEVs) registered and over half of all new registrations in the UK.

“Given the ZEV mandate, a shifting product mix from OEMs, and other factors, there’s a pressing need to find buyers for the increasing number of EVs. Unless there’s a sudden and substantial change in consumer preferences, fleets will continue to bear the brunt of this responsibility.”

Our projections for 2024 suggest a relatively stable year for new registrations, underscoring the vital role that fleets play in shaping EV demand and subsequently influencing their presence in the used vehicle market.

We share the belief fleets are poised to drive this transition forward, particularly as manufacturers are offering incentives to us. Despite the Government’s decision to postpone the ban on new internal combustion engine (ICE) sales to 2035 (UK), there’s still a challenge in changing retail perceptions. Fleets, by providing a significant portion of vehicles to the secondary market and introducing drivers to EVs, are instrumental in this shift.

A complete shift to an agency model could mean a less personalised approach for smaller fleets, as they may now have to negotiate with major OEMs directly.

How does this impact the UAE market?

In the UAE we anticipate a collective desire for stability across the automotive sector. Economic and political uncertainties pose challenges for all industry stakeholders, including fleets.

With more and more 3rd Party Logistics (3PLs), Fleet Operators and Fleet Managers working on extremely narrow margins without receiving the volume commitments for aggregators, many are looking to reduce their costs of fleet onboarding. Yet, is it the correct approach to keep looking at cost-saving? Or is there an argument for addressing the increase of profitability?

At ONE MOTO, we believe there is a balance of both, hence why we’ve brought Lease-To-Own models for fleet operators, making our electric delivery vehicles cheaper than the cost of their petrol counterpart.

FACT:

Calculating the TCO of a petrol delivery fleet vs. an EV from ONE MOTO costs over 4x (over a four year simulation).

THE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN ONE MOTO AND AVIS UAE OFFERS A SOLUTION TO THE TRADITIONAL CAPEX VERSUS OPEX MODEL TO SATISFY ANY OBJECTIONS AND OFFERS AN AFFORDABLE, DATA-DRIVEN ELECTRIC FLEET. ONE MOTO EXPECTS DEMAND FOR ELECTRIC DELIVERY VEHICLES TO EXCEED 25,000 VEHICLES WITHIN THE NEXT 12 MONTHS.

Avis UAE, offering fleet leasing solutions, has partnered with One Moto Technologies as their strategic electric motorcycle vehicle provider as the it commits to meeting the demand of any customer wanting a fleet of electric delivery vehicle. Fleet managers, 3PL, F&B operators, and aggregators can now lease an electric delivery fleet through Avis. A sustainable delivery eco-system in the UAE is a significant step toward a greener future.

Over the past 12 months, many delivery aggregators and last mile logistics operators have had a Capex versus Opex consideration when many want to adapt to their green agendas, yet cost was always the over-arching sentiment. The partnership between One Moto and Avis UAE offers a solution to satisfy any previous objections and offering an affordable, data-driven electric fleet.

Avis expect to increase their electric delivery offering to exceed 25,000 vehicles within the next 12 months.

Adam Ridgway, CEO, ONE MOTO Technologies said, “We want to electrify all last-mile vehicles in the UAE by 2024. Following the UAE government’s agenda and commitments we will ensure the world realises, the UAE take the necessary action to bring change (before COP28).”

Both companies will be working to confirm contracts for the 44,500 vehicles in discussion throughout the GCC. Early movers will always have the advantage, but the ‘decision’ to make the commitment first isn’t always forthcoming.

Developing a fleet of last-mile delivery vehicles — working alongside some of the world’s largest operators — building the vehicles beyond their needs, I wanted to uncover some of the tribulations delivery riders go through in the UAE, so I took to the roads for a week to realise first-hand exactly the real life of a delivery rider and what the solution is.

Over the past three years (UAE) there have been more fatalities and accidents reported than previous years (12 riders died in April 2020). The question is why, the general opinion is the erratic riders themselves, the roads being a occupied by a frantic slur of ‘phone using’, distracted drivers. But is this really the reason for so many accidents? I took to primary research to uncover the truth, to help the UAE government find a solution to this unnecessary and avoidable series of statistics.

All of us will have driven past dozens of delivery riders every day all sporting their different ‘employers’ colours, the oranges, greens, teal, pink amongst others sat at the side of the main roads, I pull over to many, 70% of them had run out of fuel! Why? I’ll get to that later. The other 30% just needed a rest as they were suffering neck, back and wrist pain. Why? I’ll get to that too.

Hearing these issues and seeing the unrelenting heard of beaten, battered and bruised delivery bikes over my time causes me tremendous concern. As a motorcycle license holder for the past 24 years, I believe I can offer an objective assessment of a motorcycle by ear and eye. The baggy chains, squared off tyres and exhaust noise of these ‘metal work horses’ are not in a safe condition and as research proves, are also not serviced to the levels required or expected by the Roads and Transport Authority (Dubai), and why is that? I’ll address that now.

Each month the average delivery motorcycle travels 3,000kms, requiring servicing of brakes, tyres, plugs, sprockets, oil, filters regularly, yet due to the intense working pressure, many do not service as it eats in to their working hours, affecting the riders earnings.

Approximately 5 hours per month is spent in downtime of the delivery riders in the UAE — yet the working pressure remains.

Highlighting this further, a fleet of 500 vehicles costs AED 265,000 in fuel, AED 215,000 in servicing. Yet who pays these costs? Well (in most cases), the riders pay for the fuel, the servicing is taken care of by the service agreements of fleet operators — one last-mile operator said “it was cheaper to acquire the workshop, than pay the maintenance costs each year” (on a fleet of 353 vehicles).

2020 was the ‘Year of Introduction’ of ONE MOTO. Nominated and winning five awards, doubling sales, keynote speeches and seminars were all a part of the ‘education’ surrounding the brand and the business, most importantly the reason why ONE MOTO and the switch to electric is needed. We spent many months highlighting the environmental benefits (air, noise pollution) yet many companies had some want, but not the need to mandate this transition.

THE SAFETY OF DELIVERY RIDERS IN DUBAI

We then highlighted the safety aspects, which gained attention from regional governments, the valuable data we share with them to reduce ‘accident stats’ increase the welfare of riders, understanding their riding patterns and styles and discover why many were reported to faint! Although the want is there, the need was again void. With safety and welfare the addressable point here is the discomfort and riding position of 12+ hours per day placed on the riders bodies (neck, back and wrist pain), the petrol bikes you see, were not designed for such abundant and consistent daily usage. The ergonomic designs of ONE MOTO alleviate these health problems.

With the data the ONE TEAM analysed the information to understand the real-time cost-savings, increased profitability and this caught the attention of all. We needed to feed the most accurate qualified data for the operators, to showcase the benefits for EVs and what this would look like to their bottom line.

By switching to:
Electric delivery motorcycles (Byka) the cost-savings are 73.8%
Electric delivery vans (Deliva) the cost-savings are 58.6%

What other revisions to an operation could deliver these results? And the CapEx investment would breakeven in 5–6 months.

This wasn’t the story I alluded to in the title “the real life of a delivery rider in Dubai”, so I’ll get to that now.

Many of the delivery riders in the UAE are of mixed language ability, originating from Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Nepal. However, they have all received the same training in the UAE.

This is where I stick my neck out to offer another objective finding…

Many of the riders I’ve interviewed and surveyed truly do not understand how to ride safely, the fundamentals of the vehicle they are straddling each day and most don’t care, they have a job to do “deliver to as many, as quickly as possible”. RED ALERT!!

I took to the roads upon a byka offering free deliveries to friends and customers for seven days and the results were drastic.

Car drivers would cut in front of me, honk and disregard my road position, undertaking and causing me to be very aware of them (way more so than on my electa).

My fellow peers (delivery riders) saw and greeted me at the lights, asking questions about the byka, telling me how busy they were, how many deliveries they’d done that week. All interesting factoids, then we were off to deliver goods to the destination (some more safely than others). Four riders in one day had ran out of fuel… I’ll address my earlier point now. Why? Or Why! Several of the riders were given a AED 10 per diem to buy food to help them avoid dehydration, yet as the riders have to pay for their own fuel, they used this to avoid their personal fuel expense! Plus, they “didn’t have time” to stop and refuel themselves! There’s a greater issue that needs addressing.

Day three and I felt like one of my peers, I stopped where a few had collected and started to chat, shaded under a tree we shared stories, of course they were skeptical, and the language barrier added complications, however, my takeaway was these frail looking guys sent their AED 900 to AED 1,800 back to their families each month with ‘disappointed acceptance’. None were begrudging and many mentioned they weren’t happy but “didn’t have a choice”. They felt they had no voice and were in fear of losing their jobs if they spoke out.

Several of the riders I spoke with over the week had spoken out, but nothing was done – six months later they gave up. I also asked them about the change in working conditions over the past 12 months (times of Covid) they had all increased their working hours and kms travelled by 30–40% per day! 20 riders reported they used to travel 120kms, which has increased up to 220kms! At the cost of fuel affecting their monthly salary.

There were many conversations about salary, some not receiving any and getting paid per delivery, others receiving yet had higher costs of vehicle lease, health insurance, motor insurance, even paying their visa costs.

WHAT DO THE RIDERS REALLY FEEL?

One interview I did manage to record was working for one of the most prominent food-delivery companies in the region, these were the bullet points:

“I hate my job” he began by saying.

• Paid AED 7.50 per delivery (the pay structure had changed several times since he started working)
• No health insurance
• Had to pay own visa
• Had to pay own fuel (AED 600 – 800 per month)
• Had to service his old bike every 5 days (1,250kms)
• Customers aren’t respectful.

All of his friends feel the same (not all working for the same company)

His three main concerns: Being respected for the hard work he performs, doesn’t want to live in fear all the time and he wants to be paid enough that his family in India are supported.

Surely this has to stop?! But what is the solution? We clearly understand the problem.

I believe there is one answer, that addresses all three problems; Environment, Safety and Profitability, but this would cause a restructure of operations — which can only really be implanted by regulation change. If the government wants to rid the fatal statistics, support the hyper-growth delivery sector and the welfare of those servicing the industry, a switch to EV really is the answer.

WHAT ABOUT THE CAPEX VS. OPEX CONSIDERATION?

ONE MOTO have run the figures on operating an electric fleet validating the return on investment would breakeven after 5–6 months (conservatively) and 9 months (worst-case). Could this mean the industry’s operators could report profit? Indeed it does!

One customer reported their savings and environmental focus to The National [full article], the video also says it all:

If you are an operator wanting to continue the lease of vehicles then please do get in touch and we can discuss how we can make this possible for you.

The real-time stats will highlight what the industry needs and if you truly have the want and need for a sustainable fleet whether your mandate is environmental, financial or safety — we have the answer, but you’ll need to reach out to discuss how we can work together to make it happen.

With new government regulations surrounding delivery riders and the vehicles published on 5th January this year, the regulating bodies are taking notice, so you can action before a reaction creates an unwanted must for your organisation.

My findings as the real life of a delivery rider was compounded by the insufficient training offered to ‘high in-demand’ riders. The lack of respect on the roads by drivers. So may I ask, give way, respect they are doing a job (just like the rest of us), and the pressures they are going through daily might be comparable to your own.

If you were wondering the kms in my week of “real life of a delivery rider” travelled in that week and the costs associated:

I travelled a total of 1,001 kms costing just AED 10!

Charged up 6 times.

Thank you for reading.

We’ve all read about digital transformation and as I write this entry, I hope you have all taken heed of the importance of big data, AI and the optimisation of processes using technology, yet how can this transform the food delivery industry, and gig-economy as a whole?

Telemetry has the potential to completely transform the way that operators manage their delivery solutions whether as a delivery platform (aggregator), 3rd party logistics, independent restaurant and the riders servicing customers – ONE MOTO have discussed the environmental and cost savings on the bottom line, but today I write about the time saving and the benefits – with the hope that you’ll walk away having taken home some facts surrounding the technological beenfits of the service ONE MOTO offer the last-mile delivery sector.

Now that the message is well and truly out there that ONE MOTO are not just an electric vehicle manufacturer, but in fact we are a HardTech meets FinTech mobility eco-system. It’s time we showcase the benefits of electric vehicles beyond the environment and financial cost-savings, instead demonstrate the service delivery experience through data and digital optimisation.

ONE MOTO vehicles are nothing short of smartphones on wheels.

CNN, 2021

In this specific case, the idea is that a wireless technology system lets the company track fundamental usage data, performance and delivery metrics and with AI forecast the delivery populus to service customers more efficiently adding that ’somewhat detached customer feel good’ from a process fulfilment service.

This simple seeming use of telemetry is predicted to reduce operational costs by minimising the amount spent on descales while simultaneously maximising efficiencies.

It’s a no-brainer and it’s also just the tip of innovation tsunami set to flood the last-mile industry in coming months and years.

Interestingly in the current form of vehicle/fleet leasing telemetry isn’t installed (as a rule), why? Because no one wants to pay for it. Aggregators do the best they can with in-house developers building their apps to work with their riders smartphones, 3PLs already face the brunt of risk and cost associated with supplying the service, riders couldn’t be expected to pay for it – so who should burden the cost? The answer is no one. With every price tag, a value is set. If a company can see the value in a 2-3x optimisation in delivery volumes, time, cost-reduction, working pressure, working hours then the price tag is attached to a sense of winning above competition, I’ll explain.

In the last few months, ONE MOTO have rolled out several hundred electric vehicles throughout the territories we operate (Europe, UAE, LatAm, India) each loaded and pre-installed with telematics devices to help both fleet operators and riders, which has led to some interesting data.

The most advanced delivery companies have this data available remotely via internet portal for use by fleet management professionals, restaurant operators and their transportation managers not only simply to view but also, and crucially, to modify.

Yes, you did just read that correctly.

Let’s lay down some historical data. Delivery aggregators currently offer a order delivery rate of 1.2 deliveries (on average) per hour. Yet with ONE MOTO telemetry and the ONE App these same operators are achieving 3.4 deliveries per hour. yet, what does this mean at month end?

• One customer has achieved 206% more deliveries (over 200,000 per month)
• Saved over 500 hours of time (5 hours per rider per month)
• Reduced the rider working hours by 28% (12 hours per day to 8.6 hours)
• Eliminated the rider delivery bonus volumes (achieving a greater profit)
• Without reducing the riders take home – they actually increased by 22%.

The financial rewards – as you can see – were phenomenal, routes were optimised, riders also saved on their fuel costs totalling AED 73,500 ($20,000) in one month.

What was the outlay? AED 60 ($15) per rider per month. What was the cost? What was the investment?!

The cost saving potential is huge and the remote monitoring and management with settings modification from any computer or smartphone means overseeing multiple vehicles in the fleet is suddenly so much easier.

Innovation and connectivity has been a discussion point throughout 2022, yet the education and demonstration of this hyper-efficient technology is still ongoing. The cost associated to a delivery aggregator for not implementing such innovation would mean the further demise in stock price, profitability and many of the mobility/last-mile aggregators falling short of their commitment to stakeholders.

Electric vehicles aren’t independently the answer, it is a combination of a mobility eco-system which provides the real-time facts to the efficiency and effectiveness of their operations.

One thing is certain: these interactive and connected, sustainable and smart mobility with all their telemetry and practical, time- and effort-saving features are here to stay.

Telemetry is a big deal and it’s going to increasingly affect us all whether we’re ready for it or not!

Reduce your fleet delivery costs.

With last-mile delivery becoming even more mainstream, how do we reduce your footprint in carbon emissions, increase your service operations without increasing your overheads? Is a sustainable last-mile delivery solution available in the UAE? A great question, answered and solved with the ONE MOTO Electric Vehicle Deliva Mobicool 3.0.

There are many who guarantee a service offering, yet few will offer a guarantee. ONE MOTO aren’t shying away from their promise.

We’ve run our calculations and want to share these with you, to help encourage your decision to switch to electric – the benefits are vast, but don’t take our word for it, let’s run the financials.

Let’s take a commonly used delivery vehicle like the Toyota Hiace 2021 model:

Retail: AED 89,000

Fuel per year: AED 23,600

Servicing per year: AED 4,000

Downtime for servicing/refuelling: AED 12,000

Vehicle Conversion: AED 68,000

TOTAL cost of ownership and operation for one year: AED 196,860

This is for one new vehicle for just one year.

Then consider the operation costs for the following years (you’ll be able to calculate these accurately for your business).

Then consider the harm to the environment, CO2, NOx, hydro-carbons, noise pollution. How do we put a price on this? We’ll revisit this with researched statistics.

The cost of ownership and operation of a Deliva Mobicool 3.0 from ONE MOTO:

Retail: AED 104,571

Fuel per year: AED 0

Servicing per year: AED 0

Downtime for servicing/refuelling: AED 0

Vehicle Conversion: AED 0

TOTAL cost of ownership and operation for one year: AED 104,571

Allowing you to double your fleet for almost half the investment.

By offsetting your Sustainable Mandate with an effective sustainable last-mile delivery option, we are able to make a dramatic difference.

DELIVA MOBICOOL 3.0. FLATBED, PICK UP OR GROCERY

How do we keep our prices so low?

Another great question. The answer: By reducing our overheads, from showrooms to materials – our vehicles are made from hardened recycled materials and the decision to not invest in real estate allows ONE MOTO to pass on these savings to our customers.

Do I need an additional charging station?

Yes. We supply our vehicles with their own charging station. Creating a great convenience for your fleet operations and ensuring the decision to switch is even easier, there are lots more benefits too, which we can discuss in person, or click through our recent articles.

How do you order your 2022 Deliva Mobicool 3.0?

We have made it available online at www.one-moto.com/product/deliva these ‘fully-brandable’ trucks are also available as a flatbed or pick up and are complete with AC, for full specs, please download the spec sheet

If you would like to offset your transition from a ‘fuel’ fleet to electric, we can also help here too. ONE MOTO have partnered with Zaeto.ae they will assess and offer a Operational Effectiveness solution for your current fleet, and with the savings allow you to transition a lot quicker than you would think and potentially allow you to do so without any additional investment, for more information, please contact Nicholas Brooks, CEO Zaeto nicholas@zaeto.ae, mention ONE MOTO and his team will advise you on the options available.

If you would like to discuss the finer details of this solution, and to get our signature to our above promise, please contact us.
